GrossWelcome to STEM Lab!  I am the Magnet Coordinator and STEM Specialist at Pilot Knob STEM magnet school.  My license is in grades K-6 elementary education and grades 5-8 science.  I hold a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in education from the University of Minnesota (Go Gophers!).

My wife (a second grade teacher in South St. Paul) and I have two beautiful kids that keep us very busy.  Our son is five years old and our daughter will be three this winter.  When not busy with my kids, I enjoy woodworking, cooking, and spending time outside (preferably on the lake).  Since 2003 I have been working at Heritage E-STEM middle school.  During my time at Heritage I taught mostly science, however, I also experienced teaching language arts, math, and social studies for a couple years too.

In 2010, I was named, one of fifty educators in the country, as a Discovery Education/Siemens STEM Institute Fellow, where I learned many new and innovative practices for STEM related concepts.  I also got to meet the Mythbusters! I am looking forward to using the skills I have learned throughout the years, and integrating Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM), into all classes here at PK!

Meet our STEM lab friends!

My classroom schedule will be different each week.  I will be posting my weekly classroom schedule outside my door each Monday.  I will also post a copy of my schedule in the "document container" on this website.  Please email me with questions.
